Approximately one in ten pregnant women (1/10) say they have experienced one or more acts of violence in the past two years.
The act most often mentioned (63.7%) by women is to have been pushed, grabbed or shoved in a grabbed or pushed in a way that could have hurt them.
Approximately 18% of women abused during pregnancy during pregnancy have a miscarriage or suffer internal trauma as a result of violence.

Domestic violence can have the following effects on your pregnancy and your baby: 

premature or low birth weight baby
miscarriage;
eating and sleeping problems in children;
growth retardation.
