Government of Canada temporarily suspending mandatory random arrival testing at all airports
As part of the structured plan to move COVID-19 testing out of airports, from June 11 at 12:01 a.m. (EDT) to June 30, 2022, the Government of Canada is temporarily suspending mandatory random arrival testing at all airports for travellers who qualify as fully vaccinated.
There are no changes to:
- mandatory random arrival testing at land borders
- arrival testing for travellers who don’t qualify as fully vaccinated and are allowed entry into Canada

As part of the structured plan to move COVID-19 testing out of airports, from June 11 at 12:01 a.m. (EDT) to June 30, 2022, the Government of Canada is temporarily suspending mandatory random arrival testing at all airports for travellers who qualify as fully vaccinated.
There are no changes to:
- mandatory random arrival testing at land borders
- arrival testing for travellers who don’t qualify as fully vaccinated and are allowed entry into Canada
As a fully vaccinated traveller, you can travel to your destination, including on connecting flights, without waiting for your arrival test results (if selected for testing).
Any unvaccinated children must properly wear a well-constructed and well-fitting mask when in public spaces for the first 14 days after entry. This includes schools and daycares.
